    • It was great! The other authors were much better known that I am, and I enjoyed their “war stories”. I did manage to amuse a few folks in the audience, I think. Several attendees came up to do some brain-picking afterwards, always a good sign. 🙂

  2. Superb blog! Do you have any hints for aspiring writers? I’m hoping to start my own blog soon but I’m a little lost on everything. Would you recommend starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many choices out there that I’m completely confused .. Any recommendations? Thanks a lot!

    • Hi, Benton: We’ve had pretty good luck with WordPress. Certainly, I’d make sure your new blog is moderated and has all the Spam-blocking options (you wouldn’t believe some of the stuff that comes in here). The only other suggestion I’d have as far as a blog is to try to schedule a new post or new addition every week to keep your “followers” interested. I had another blog once, which I neglected to the point that it actually fossilized. This one gets my attention every day for comment moderation, plus I intend to start a new weekly feature (character-of-the-week) featuring bios and artwork related to one of the Alterran characters–something I think my readers will enjoy.

Please don’t hesitate if you have specific questions. Perhaps we can get some others to weigh in!
Best of luck with your writing projects,
      –CSM
